Imagine a man who went to four years of graduate school to learn the inner workings of a treadmill. That is what the Treadmill Doctor is. He has gone out and earned PhD in the anatomy and mechanics of treadmills. He knows the complex and intricate bits about the treadmill belts, the breaking mechanisms, and treadmill motors. So when you get a review from him you can trust it to be accurate.

In reality, Treadmill Doctor is not one man, it is a company of men. The company started as a repair site, they don’t sell anything and so they don’t have biases like most other affiliate based treadmill sites. Their main concern is making sure you get the best treadmill on the market. They blatantly say they do not pay attention to bells and whistles and electronic gizmos, they care about the machinery. This is good for you because if you get a machine with a good rating from them you can bet it is going to last.

They review 65 different brands. The reviews are very short, just a rating system of one through ten judging: walking area, power, cushioning, reliability, noise level, quality, value, and warranty. Each review comes with a clever comment to emphasize the doctor’s point. “This is common with Gold’s Gym…make the accessories a big part of the machine and maybe the public will forget about the treadmill that stinks.” That is his ending comment about the Gold’s Gym Trainer 410.

These quips give the otherwise drab website a lot of character. Despite being a refutable and trusted source for treadmill ratings and repair, Treadmilldoctor.com is a rather dull looking site. The website has an overall bare feeling, as if it were outlined by the people who did the interior design for Costco or Home Depot. It is a website with very few features. They provide a service and they don’t dress it up.

The neatest quality about this website though is how they sell individual parts for a number of different brands. They even have a section of their site for accessories, things like lubricants, mats, and cleaners for your treadmill, if you care to keep it tip top condition. That is something you aren’t going to find on other review sites.

Treadmill Doctor blatantly says they have a bias, “a repair person’s bias”. They are a treadmill and elliptical repair site. Their number one priority is to get the highest quality machine and let you know about it. They factor in the quality of individual components into their reviews and they even look at the company you are purchasing from. They ask questions like, “Has the design of this machine been tested before?” and “If the company is in debt, how will it affect your warranty?” This attention to detail and quality has earned them a very good reputation in the realm of fitness machinery. You will notice that on some sites there is a Treadmill Doctor badge awarded to specific treadmills. The reason being, the doctor is a trusted company in this industry. Why are they among the top on this list, because they are among the best review sites out there.
