This affilate website is owned by Net Direct Publishing Ltd, and based out of Canada. It definitely isn’t my favorite website, for several reasons. However, it does have a few merits, which have kept it in the C range, rather than the F range.
The first thing that I dislike about this website is really just personal preference, but I figure it’s worth mentioning. I hate it when you have a site that has a bunch of dashes in between the words. I also hate it when words are shortened, like when the word “and” is turned into “N.” This web address manages to include both of these heinous mistakes. Can you even imagine trying to tell someone about this website? “Yeah be sure to check out treadmill ratings and reviews .net. Oh, and be sure to put dashes in between each word! And remember that the ‘and’ is supposed to be the letter n. And don’t forget it’s .net instead of .com!” What a nightmare.
Besides the horrible domain name choice, there are several other mistakes to be found here. First the site display is very unappealing. Too much dark blue everywhere and it is not organized in an appealing way. Links are scattered everywhere on the site. Second, you have to deal with Smooth fitness and Sole ads all over the site. Spammy ads right in the middle of the page are a total turnoff for most people!
Speaking of Smooth Fitness and Sole, the site very obviously favors these brands the most. Perhaps they pay the highest affiliate fees, and of course they are also getting money from them for advertising. Smooth Fitness is their #1 brand in everything. The site even has a page devoted to “The Top 3 Online Stores” where they only list two stores, Smooth’s homepage, and Workout Warehouse. They should have just called it “The Top 2 Online Stores” if that is all they were going to include.
The good news for treadmill-ratings-n-reviews is that they review a decent number of brands and models. They review 18 different brands (all affiliates through Amazon or the brand home page), and for each brand they review they also review at least a few models.
They also have an articles section, which is a good thing to see most of the time. However, in this case, the articles aren’t dated, and the author’s name isn’t present on them. This can sometimes indicate a computer generated article. I don’t believe that these ones are computer generated, but it would be really nice to have an author listed, or at least have them dated so that you know the site is being regularly updated.
Overall, is this a site I would trust? No. They don’t give any consideration to any brand or website that isn’t paying them something. I tend to steer away from sites like that, who are clearly just in it for the money. Yes, they do offer information about many different machines, but the info is clearly biased and not worth your time.
